Times Microwave Leaky Feeder T-RAD 600 - per metre short lead time
This cable is designed to leak radio signal evenly along its length, thereby acting as an antenna. Used in London and New York underground for radio communications, this cable has applications in serving rooms along corridors where single or even multiple access points and antenna will not reach.
Driven by a 1 watt amplifier, good connection within a 20 metre radius of the cable is to be expected: without an amplifier a 20 metre cable length, driven by a 100 mw access point, will give connection up to a radius of about 30 feet.
This is a balanced line cable and must be fed by T piece, each end of the cable being terminated with 50 ohm balancing resistors. Use BNC connectors and BNC to N adaptors to deliver signal to the cable. The image below shows the most economical way to make the connections: note that one N Plug and one N Jack terminator are suggested. The connectors can be ordered as a complete connecting set.
