The Compex WP54-6E is a Single Board AP based upon the Infineon ADM5120 Processor operating at 175MHz. Embedded with 16MB SDRAM and 4MB Flash, WP54 integrates one Type III Mini PCI Slot and is designed for enterprise and public access application. An integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliance with Compex's PoE and 802.af standard allows WP54 to be used in areas where power outlets are not readily available.

The WLM54AG 2.4/5.8 GHz 20dBm high sensitivity Atheros 5413A chipset card is supplied with the board and Compex software is installed. Op system is Linux-2.4.28 for MIPs.

The board can be flashed with IkarusOS if required (See www.amtcor.com for instructions and Compex allegedly offer a free download) though most users prefer the Compex software that is already installed. Open-WRT Firmware is available in source code and the board will ralso support Wilibox Platform software.

The Compex firmware supports 7 different modes:
- Access Point Bridging
- Access Point Client
- Gateway
- Wireless Routing Client
- Wireless Ethernet Adapter
- Wireless Bridge Link
- Point to multipoint
+ multi SSID feature

Also incorporates unique features such as – the Parallel Broadband feature that allows bandwidth aggregation and fail-over redundancy capability. When set to gateway mode, it uses Wireless Distribution System (WDS) to wirelessly link all associated access pointsnand gateways together.

Long-Range parameter settings provides WP54AG with the ability to auto-calculate parameters such as slot time, ACK time-out and CTS time-out on the wireless device based on range requirements entered to achieve a longer range.

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) that provides the wireless network with extra redundancy and reliability; the network will auto-reconfigure when there are changes to the network connections.

The Pseudo VLAN feature enables the creation of wireless isolated nodes or workgroups between wireless clients to increase network privacy in a wireless LAN installation.

PSU and POE injector must be purchased separately. This is not a retail product and is supplied in anti-static bag with no retail packaging.
