Ubiquiti Unifi UAP is a MIMO 802.11b/g/n wireless access point device, controllable from the Unifi management system that is scaleable to hundreds or thousands of units - the Unifi software for managing the units is free and downloadble from Ubiquiti. No expensive management software or hardware is required. The software can be installed on a PC or a MAC and allows the operator to instantly provision thousands of Unifi UAPs, map out networks, quickly manage system traffic, and further provision individual Unifi UAP devices. It is also available as an Ubiquiti Unifi UAP - 3 Pack.


Claimed throughput is up to 300Mbps speeds with ranges up to 160 metres. A higher-power version is available - the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-LR - which will provide coverage over greater distances.

Attractive design combines with out-of-the-box deployment, including wall/ceiling mount adaptor, a mains power supply and the Unifi Software Installation CD. Power and data are carried by the ethernet cable that connects each unit to the network. Unifi unit MUST NOT be connected to a powered hub with a 48v supply - use the Ubiquiti Instant downconvertor, indoor or outdoor as appropriate.

At the front-centre of the device is a status LED ring which can provide the administrator with location tracking and alerts for each device.
