New Products

This month saw the long-awaited release of MikroTik’s first 40G router. The CRS326-24S+2Q+RM features two 40G QSFP+ ports alongside twenty-four 10G SFP+ ports. It has a forwarding capacity of 252Mpps and a total non-blocking total throughput of 320Gbps. A selection of accessories have also been released alongside it, including the Q+BC0003-S+ “brake-out” cable, allowing you to upgrade your network without replacing all of your hardware.

MikroTik also introduced the CRS312-4C+8XG+RM, a 10G Ethernet router with four 10GbE/SFP+ combo ports. The router ships with two operating systems, allowing you to choose the booting software that best suits your needs: RouterOS for a feature-rich operating system, and SwOS for a simpler system that also allows you to utilise Layer 3 features.

Ubiquiti also introduced the USW-Flex, a managed auto-sensing PoE switch with 802.3af support. The switch requires 802.3bt PoE++ input to be fully utilised and provides a total PoE budget of 46W. The USW-Flex can be safely deployed outside thanks to its weatherproof IP55-rated design and offers a versatile range of mounting options including pole, wall, and magnetic.

Training Course Updates

The MS Distribution Training Centre has been providing certified Ubiquiti and MikroTik courses since 2012, gaining a strong track record in delivering professional quality training courses and high success rates in helping our customers obtain manufacturer certified engineer status.

We will be running a Ubiquiti UEWA course on the 16th September that will enable engineers to avoid common issues and learn the finer details of the UniFi controller's functionality. Plus, we will be also be running a Ubiquiti UBWA course on 18th September 2019 which provides a theoretical and practical look at the planning and diagnosis of Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint links.
