Wireless and Networking Month in Review for November 2019

Samuel Williamson
4th December 2019

What happened in November?

Welcome to our month in review for November 2019 where we’ll discuss all the latest events from the MS Distribution sphere.

The Future of UniFi

November saw the announcement of two exciting additions to the Ubiquiti UniFi range: the UniFi Dream Machine and the UniFi Building Bridge.

The UniFi Dream Machine (UDM) is an all-in-one solution for home and small businesses that are looking to introduce UniFi into their network. The UniFi Dream Machine combines a 4x4 MIMO AP with a 4-Port Managed Gigabit Switch and an Advanced Security Gateway with IDS/IPS and DPI. A Cloud Key Controller is also built into the device, allowing you to manage a UniFi network from a central device.

The UniFi Building Bridge (UBB) is Ubiquiti’s first offering for the 60GHz spectrum. The pre-configured pair allows for the quick and easy deployment of Gigabit backhaul at distances of up to 500m. The UBB also features 5GHz failover, with the UBB auto-switching to the lower frequency should the 60GHz connection fail. A must-have for business critical connections.
