RADWIN Outland – A PtMP TVWS Solution
An exciting new TV White Space solution connecting total communities with non-line-of-sight wireless broadband
Officially unveiled in late 2019, RADWIN, the global wireless broadband provider has now released its new disruptive TV White Space (TVWS) solution for general availability. RADWIN’s TVWS solution utilises unused TV channels in the 470-698MHz band to connect unserved rural customers to the fast-paced digital world. Leveraging RADWIN’s existing innovative technologies, the new TVWS solution operates in non-line-of-sight scenarios and penetrates areas of dense foliage over large distances. The new TVWS solution accompanies RADWIN’s existing carrier-grade sub 6GHz portfolio and is supported by RADWIN’s OSS tools to address all operational aspects of the network lifecycle.
Introducing RADWIN Outland
TVWS, a part of the UHF spectrum, is the ultimate frequency band for eliminating the digital divide in rural areas where wireline and high frequency solutions remain unaffordable and unattainable. Using TVWS service providers can expand their network footprint beyond the existing infrastructure to grow their customer base and, subsequently, service revenues. Rural communities will be able to tap into value-added broadband services to significantly improve their lifestyle and increase productivity by accessing many online services such as healthcare, education, commercial, entertainment and more which have before been unattainable.
Key RADWIN Outland Features:
- Sector capacity of up to 300Mbps(1) and subscriber capacity of up to 150Mbps
- A dual-carrier base station with two non-contiguous carriers of up to 24MHz each
- Excellent interference mitigation
- Performance predictability using dedicated planning tools and processes
- Fast and simple radio installation process
- Managed by WINManage NMS, a unified management system for RADWIN portfolio
- Co-existence with RADWIN’s Sub 6GHz networks
