The Mimosa A5 14dBi access point is designed for urban and suburban deployments. Made up of four sector panels, the device emits 70 degree azimuth beamwidth from each panel, offering 360 degree coverage.
The A5 14dBi access point utilizes the same 4x4:4 MIMO chip that is present in their backhaul range and operates in the same 5GHz range. Up to 100 clients can connect to the device which offers throughput of up to 1.0 Gbps IP (1.7 Gbps PHY).
Engineers can also configure the device in order to set the minimum dBi being picked up by the receiver, helping to reduce noise in dense deployments. This can also enable the device to ignore 5GHz home devices, which are becoming increasingly popular.
The TDMA GPS Sync Client ensures that upstream bandwidth and latencies are allocated on demand, enabling significantly higher overall upstream network bandwidth allocation. With MU-MIMO, multiple clients on the same access point are coordinated to simultaneously share spectrum “spatially” via unique antenna beamforming.
The Mimosa A5c has two modes available. WiFi Interop allows the A5c to connect to up to 100 clients from Mimosa and third party manufacturers. GPS Sync (TDMA) allows up to 44 Mimosa clients to be connected.
