The Mimosa B5c is a high-performance connectorised point-to-point radio, delivering fibre-like speed and reliability over wireless. Combining 802.11ac technology with advanced 4x4:4 MIMO, the B5c achieves up to 1.7 Gbps PHY throughput, using dual 20 MHz channels. Designed for flexibility, it features 2× N-type connectors, allowing pairing with any dual-polarised antenna to suit your deployment needs.

Powered by Mimosa’s Dual Link technology, the B5c intelligently load-balances across non-contiguous channels, maintaining stable performance even in high-interference environments. Real-time and historical spectrum analysis allows the radio to make smart, dynamic adjustments, while the Auto Everything feature automatically tunes frequency, channel width, and power levels for optimal link performance—though manual control remains an option for advanced users.

Whether used in rural backhaul or urban network expansion, the Mimosa B5c offers scalable, cost-effective gigabit connectivity with enterprise-grade dependability.

FAQs

Q1: What is the Mimosa B5c Radio and what is it used for?
A: The Mimosa B5c Radio is an outdoor wireless backhaul radio designed for long‑range, high‑throughput connectivity. It’s commonly used for fixed wireless access, point‑to‑point (PtP), and point‑to‑multipoint (PtMP) links in service provider and enterprise networks.

Q2: What frequency range does the Mimosa B5c Radio operate in?
A: The B5c operates in the 5 GHz band, delivering strong performance in less congested spectrum and enabling high‑speed wireless links with reduced interference compared to lower frequency alternatives.

Q3: How is the Mimosa B5c powered and connected?
A: This radio is typically powered using Power over Ethernet (PoE), which allows a single cable to deliver both power and data. It connects to antennas or other radios to create long‑range wireless links.

Q4: What applications is the Mimosa B5c Radio suitable for?
A: The B5c is ideal for wireless ISP backhaul, campus networks, rural broadband links, and enterprise PtP/PtMP installations where reliable, high‑throughput wireless connectivity is required over distance.

Q5: What physical and environmental features does the Mimosa B5c Radio offer?
A: The B5c has a rugged outdoor housing designed to withstand harsh conditions and temperature extremes. It supports pole or mast mounting for secure installation and long‑term outdoor performance in fixed wireless networks.
