Ubiquiti CWDM Mux Demux 8
The Ubiquiti CWDM Mux Demux 8 is a professionally-designed, rack-mountable device that expands the capacity of existing fibre infrastructure by supporting a wide range of wavelengths from 1450 to 1590 nm. It features eight dedicated channel ports for efficient data transmission, as well as a duplex LC UPC communication port for easy linking to another CWDM Mux Demux 8 using a pair of single-mode fibre cables.
Additionally, an expansion port is included for integration with a CWDM Mux Demux 4, providing the flexibility to add more channels as needed. To ensure optimal performance and simplified maintenance, the unit also includes a duplex LC UPC monitor port for seamless real-time monitoring with a power meter or optical spectrum analyser.

FAQs
Q1: What is the UACC‑CWDM‑8 used for?
A: The UACC‑CWDM‑8 is a passive CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer that allows you to combine (or split) up to eight separate optical wavelengths onto a single single‑mode fiber — increasing fiber capacity without laying new fiber lines.
Q2: What wavelengths and how many channels does it support?
A: It supports 8 channels with center wavelengths at 1450, 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570, and 1590 nm.
Q3: What type of fibre and connectors does the unit require, and how is it mounted?
A: It uses standard single‑mode fibre (SMF‑28e) and LC/UPC connectors. The unit is rack‑mountable (1U, 19"), making it suitable for installation in standard server or network racks.
Q4: What are the key optical performance specifications (loss, isolation, power handling)?
A: Maximum insertion loss is under 2.5 dB. Channel isolation: at least 30 dB between adjacent channels and 40 dB between non‑adjacent channels. It handles up to 500 mW optical input power, with return loss of at least 50 dB and polarization‑dependent loss under 0.1 dB.
Q5: What are the physical and environmental specifications of the UACC‑CWDM‑8?
A: The unit measures 442 × 120 × 43.7 mm and weighs around 1.4 kg. It operates in ambient temperatures from –30 °C to +75 °C and can be stored between –40 °C to +90 °C.
