FAQs
Q1: What is the USW‑Pro‑Max‑16‑PoE used for?
A: It’s a fully managed Layer‑3 network switch designed to deliver both high‑speed data connectivity and power over Ethernet (PoE) — suitable for powering access points, cameras, VoIP phones, or other PoE devices, while also providing 1G/2.5G and 10G uplinks.
Q2: What ports and interface options does the switch provide?
A: It includes 12 × Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports, 4 × 1/2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, and 2 × 10 Gb SFP+ ports. The 16 RJ45 ports support PoE/PoE+/PoE++, with the 4 2.5 GbE ports capable of PoE++.
Q3: What PoE power output and total budget does it support?
A: The switch provides a total PoE budget of 180 W. On RJ45 ports, it supports up to 30 W (PoE+) or 60 W (PoE++) per port (on four 2.5 GbE PoE++ ports). Lower-wattage PoE devices can also be powered on the Gigabit ports as needed.
Q4: What switching performance and throughput does the USW‑Pro‑Max‑16‑PoE deliver?
A: It offers a non‑blocking throughput of 42 Gbps, a switching capacity of 84 Gbps, and a forwarding rate of ~62.5 Mpps, enough to handle multiple high‑bandwidth clients or simultaneous data and PoE traffic.
Q5: What are the physical build, mounting options and operational conditions?
A: The switch is housed in an SGCC steel chassis, measures approximately 325.1 × 160 × 43.7 mm, weighs around 2.1 kg, and supports desktop, wall or 1U rack mounting. It uses a 54 V DC adapter (210 W), runs passively (fanless, silent), and is designed to operate in ambient temperatures from about –5 °C to +40 °C.
